Entry #2

Posted on August 3rd

I've returned to the Olympic village after a very successful training camp in Kamen and tune-up meet in Weinheim, Germany. I'm rounding into great shape and my confidence is as high as its been all season. My focus here in London is to focus on "doing my job". Knowing that I have a goal to accomplish, both individually and in the relay and that if I do what Im capable of, then good things will happen.

I want to give a quick shout out to the UPEI campus Kids for organizing their brilliant event at Canada Games place. You're effort and well wishes were definitely felt over here in Europe and I know one day, with hard work and sacrifice that there will be a future Olympian amongst that group. Thanks again!

ps: can't wait to represent Canada again, what an honor!

I'm currently in Weinheim Germany for a small last minute tune up meet before the games. Ill be competing In the open 100m and as a part of the Canadian relay squad.

The last 3 weeks have flown by but I've really bared down and gotten some of the best training on the track and in the weight room all season. I'm feeling like myself again and learned slot from the disappointment of the Olympic trials in calgary. Sometimes you're the dog and other times you're the hydrant, there are always ups and downs to every season, I'm learning to embrace that and move forward.

The next few days should be an emotional roller coaster with the opening ceremonies kicking off tomorrow. The lighting of the Olympics flame ignites the Olympic spirit figuratively and literally! Exciting stuff, I'm honored to be a part of it!
